Sixty seconds at the nape

The whole monthly ritual fits inside a minute, and most of that minute is finding the cat. The destination is the one patch of skin a tongue can't reach: the base of the neck, right where the collar would sit.

Start with the pipette. Press the smaller disk and the rounded tip opens — no scissors, no snapping a stem, nothing to fumble while a suspicious animal watches. The tip is designed to rest directly against skin, so part the fur at the nape until you can see it.

Timing matters more than technique. Pick a moment when your cat is dry and either standing or folded into a comfortable loaf; after breakfast is the traditional window. Set the tip on the skin, squeeze slowly until the pipette is empty, and let go of the fur.
